GETTING TO NICARAGUA
Arcadia in San Juan del Sur is equidistant from Managua MGA (Nicaragua) or Liberia LIR (Costa Rica). Your choice will depend on your origin and fares at the time. LIR has many more flight options and the prices tend to be significantly less. On the other hand, MGA may be more convenient without the border crossing.
If this is your first time visiting Nicaragua, we recommend private airport-to-door transportation. Rates per vehicle are $85-$140, depending on airport. Arcadia can arrange this for you with one of our trusted drivers.

Once in SJDS, Arcadia is 2 blocks to the beach, and walking distance to the center of town. For your privately scheduled activities, transportation is included. If you wish to explore later on your own, we can arrange a rental car, private guide, or provide information for public transportation.

Entry requirements to Nicaragua and Costa Rica change frequently . Please don't hesitate to ask us for the most up to date and accurate information!
HEALTH IN NICARAGUA
Here in Nicaragua we were fortunate to pass the time of Covid. Fresh air, outdoor living spaces, and no mandates on movement within the country. While the rest of the world was confined in their homes, we were enjoying walks on the beaches, and café at the outdoor restaurants. That said, Nicaragua was not immune to Covid.

Generally, the public health care system is very poor in Nicaragua, but it is free. Fortunately, Nicaragua private health care is excellent, and the prices are very affordable compared to the North.

For the average healthy person, paying out of pocket for private health care is the way to go. From minor stomach ailments to optional medical care or urgent care, we can help direct you as needed.
Accurate information in Nicaragua is hard to come by. If you have any health concerns, please send us your questions.
