FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where will I be Staying?

You will be staying a the 5-Star rated luxury guest house of Villa Arcadia, in the exclusive neighborhood of Pacific Marlin overlooking the bay of San Juan del Sur, a short walk to town. For our students, all rooms are discounted to the same rate, and include premium furnishings, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and SmartTvs, private bathrooms with hot water showers. Where will I be Studying?

Our guests will have their private classes in the quiet of Villa Arcadia -- by the pool, in the living room, at the dining table, in the garden… wherever you are most comfortable! You may even choose to have some classes on the beach, two blocks away!

How will I study?

Classes are taught by Spanish immersion. There are no textbooks or materials to buy, and written exercises will be provided. Our instructors have years of experience gauging your Spanish level, from 100% beginner to advanced. They have taught children and seniors, and everyone in between.  Classes will likely be held, M-F from 8am to 12-noon for intensive, or M-W from 8am to 11am for semi-intensive. Afternoons are possible if needed.

What about the activities?

As we have negotiated prices in advance and bundled them with our packages, we can provide them for a lower cost than if you were to arrange on your own. Further, we have personally participated in all of the activities so we are familiar with the providers. Transportation will be provided to the activities, when needed. Hosted by Nicaraguans, not only can you try something new, it will be a great opportunity to practice your Spanish!

I will be coming with a travel partner…

Great! The second person is 50% off the price of the first guest. Most rooms can be configured with one or two beds. If your Spanish level is different than that of your travel partner, please let us know so we can make special arrangements.

Is Nicaragua safe?

Nicaragua is not dangerous, per se, but it is hazardous. Your risks are tripping, falling off a motorbike, dog bites, surf wipe out, etc... That said, petty crime is a nuisance. Do not walk alone at night, keep an eye your belongings, do not accept drinks from strangers, etc. Villa Arcadia is in a safe neighborhood and it is safe for walking at any time.
